1) Mark Сhagall
One of the most prominent representatives of the
avant-garde art, Marc Chagall was born in the Belarusian city of Vitebsk. Here,
the talented Vitebsk artist Yudel Pan taught him
painting and arts. At the age of 23, Chagall
decided to proceed with his studies in Paris and
soon became one of the greatest representatives
of the Paris School.
The most famous painting of Chagall "Above the

2) Tadeusz Kościuszko

4) Valentina Tereshkova
Valentina Tereshkova was the world first woman astronaut. Till present, she remains the only
woman in the world who has done the solitary space flight, after which she was
called the "Miss Universe". Her Belarusian parents moved to
Russia when she was very small. But almost all her childhood she spoke
Belarusian language and in her numerous interviews she always shared warm
memories, connected with Belarus.
5) Isaac Azimov
One of the greatest science fiction writers in the
world, Isaac Azimov was born in the village of Petrovichi in the Mogilev
region. His parents, who worked at Belarusian mills, three years after the
birth of Isaac moved to the US.
Here, he decided the occupation of biochemist. Later Azimov became the
author of more than 500 fiction books popularizing science
and won a number of top scientific and literal
awards.
6) Larry King
Super-popular American TV show
maker Larry King also comes from Belarus. His mother Jenny was from
Minsk, and father Eddie Zeiger was born in Pinsk. They left for America, where
the future TV star was born. Today, Larry King is

7) Lazar Mayer

growling head of the lion - belongs to "Metro Goldwyn Meyer"
corporation founded by Lazar Meir, who was born in Minsk. After immigration, he turned his name into Louis Bart Meyer
and bought an old movie theater in a small town. For many years he had been
working on the project, which was later called the Hollywood. In addition, it was Mayer who founded

8) Svetlana Aleksievich
Belarusian writer and journalist, the author of "The Unwomanly Face of War",

Alexievich won the Nobel Prize in literature
"for her many-voiced creativity - a monument to suffering and courage in
our time."
